My stunner arrived yesterday :D it's from Lady Katkin

Now I've taken 15 photos of it and still can't get the stamped background to show  this photo at least highlights the depth, but it is even better in real life

It's made using the cricut, and sequins and the backgroung is stamped with wee flourishes and a bird; the stamp is Bliss by Stamping up, and is just a delicate hint in the back ground, and the sequins are just highlighted with some stickles  and it's lovely

That is a gorgeous card! I've had a beautiful card from Welly and taken photos but wasn't sure when or where to load. Do we put them all in this list or do we start a new thread for each? :confused2: Can't wait to show you.

Look at my fab card made by Welly. It is amazing but really difficult to photograph white and show it off properly. She has used the Cuttlebug to great effect with Centura Pearl as the background and I just love the roses (how did you do them, Welly?). There is an embossed section behind the trellis with some delicate swirly scroll shapes as embellishments. And that's not all! I think Welly has stamped on top and embossed but I'm not sure. The more I look the more I see.

I am just thrilled with it and will treasure it. (For any newbies that may not know, just click on the image to see it properly)

Glad you like it Jenty :) Yes, it's stamped & embossed in white as well. I slightly boobed actually, meant to do that before I ran it through the bug, so it's a bit uneven, but I decided to class it as slightly distressed LOL

That's the first time I've had a go at doing that style of rose - if you catch any of the current HD paper flowers POTW, it's the one based on a circle with a spiral cut into it so that it looks a bit like a spring. You roll it up & then twiddle till you get the desired 'openess'. I tried it the way I half caught Leann doing it with some co-ordinations cardstock the other week. Didn't see how she made the circle, but instead of a neat, even spiral with scissors/knife, you hand tear it - I tore the actual circle too, after using a mug & a fine embossing tool for a guide line.

Wow lovely card Welly,
all the differents elements used are fantastic
great minds think alike, I wonder why, could it be the pisces teleapathic gift lol,
Mine is not exactly the same but one of the elements is,now before anyone says I copied her mine is already in the post LOL
Jenty great photography you managed to capture all the elements which is not easy with white on white

:mysmilie_85: What a stunning selection of cards - once again, you've all surpassed yourselves! The all white theme is so classy and effective and not something I'd have ever thought to do. This has definitely inspired me to have a go. I think having the card in a uniform colour allows you to appreciate the depth, textures of the different materials used etc, works so well.

Lady Katkin - I love the dimension and all the little details and that poodle is lovely! xx

Welly - Beautiful card, your roses look fab. Funnily enough, I was having a go at making some of them myself today (technically yesterday now lol) My first attempt didn't work as I attempted to roll it up from the centre outwards (if you see what I mean) but worked the second one from the outside in and it came out much better xx

Jenty - Another beautiful, classy make - love the design xx

Victoria - The colours, textures and embellishments you've used work perfectly together, v. classy xx

LJ - Love it, what a stunner! xx

Thank you jube :D

The flower is really very simple. I cut a narrow strip of plain white card and cut a frill all along the edge then made two wider frills the same way and just rolled them all together starting with the narrower piece. Once they were rolled up I opened the wider frills out to form the petals and left the smaller one as it is to make the centre and stuck a clear gem on the top. xxx

I'm not sure why my scanner insisted on cutting the top of her head off, but that's not overly important!

I actually like this one, which is unusual for me as I'm very critical of my own work:

Sadly I'm not that good at drawing RW. I have attempted a couple of animal ones, but without too much success LOL

I'll slap you; I have a beautiful drawing of a cow; one that all my lot of beef farmers see as a wonderful; non fresian, illustration of a cow; even my so practical men folk see why your illustration is framed and hung in my craftroom, and signed by you; and she, like any great work watches me; her eyes do move; so just behave; I quite accept that there are many things you aren't brilliant at; but you sooo can draw, and you do make beautiful cards

I want to thank or maybe not, Rainbowwand for arranging these monthy swaps.
I came across shopping telly must be over 7 years ago to find out what all the gossip about The Dear Late Steve Whatley was about, and came across the swap section.and after such a lovely welcome from Rainbowwand plucked up the courage to join, and then when Graham set up C.T I moved over here. so I can blame Joan for all my spending, as I am sure if I had never joined,I would not have learnt about all the new crafty items and spent a fortune on must haves and the not so must haves:giggle:.
Saying that the swaps have saved me from going bonkers with boredem, and I have laughed and cried along with everyone's good and bad times. and would like to say I have made a very good online friend
So yes a BIG:mysmilie_508:Joan

First off just toooo many stunning cards on one thread - amazing :clapping: Seems to be a particularly wonderful swap this month, thank you RW  And lots of first-timers too - definitely the more the merrier, hope now you've takent the plunge you'll keep joining in as & when you're able

Second off - I want to echo all those general 'Thanks for the monthly swap RW' posts; it's such a fantastic opportunity to play & see other people's crafty bones at work. I love it (even if I can't join in sometimes).

Wow, more gorgeous additions!!

Millburn - Beautiful, sophisticated card - those roses are to die for! xx

Angie - A lovely, different interpretation of the theme and so cute!! Love the sparkly butterfly xx

Fee - Stunning card, I love bird cages. That die is firmly on my wishlist! xx

Princess4Wizz - That flower's so clever and a love the design with the embossed circles. Really good at drawing, too!! I'm not surprised you were pleased with the one of the lady holding her hair up, she's beautiful and people are one of the hardest things to draw xx

Beth, your card is lovely & really clever, love how you made the flower, so unusual, sounds very fiddly though.......was there much dropping of screwed up bits on the floor, accidental creases & unladylike swearing before the finished perfect article made it onto the card....? LOL

Thank you very much Kitten :D

Actually there was very little in the way of muttering, cursing and general grumbling going on, in fact the hardest part of all was starting off the centre piece of the flower. That first fiddly twiddle is 'orrible, but it's fine once that's been overcome!

Thanks for posting the photo Kitten (or should that be thank you DH of Kitten?)

I have to say that your card is soooooooo much nicer in real life! The pearlescent card you have used for the matting and layering is just divine and the flower is so beautifully embossed that it truly took my breath away! You also amaze me with your total accuracy in the spacing of your mats/layers, Kitten, and the mosaic look to the main picture is stunning in it's neatness. I am a very lucky lady to be the recipient of one of your cards and it will be treasured, as are all the cards I receive from my CT friends. I absolutely  adore this card, so thank you again. :flower: :mysmilie_500: :mysmilie_479:

Kitten that card is stunning and so stylish and like P4W says it is so accurate. This is a style of cards I struggle with as I'm a bit slap dash not very precise and I always seem to get a splodge or a smudge on things. I will have to practise the less is more style for when it is P4W birthday swap.

Lovely stamp, isn't it? First time I've used one that big & I only had one problem with it.....when I went to actually stamp the image, I discovered my hands were too small to span the block lengthways & it was too heavy & wide for my feeble hands to hold widthways, so had to hold it by the edges & do a kind of 'controlled lowering' onto the card......! LOL

Susan W
23-06-2011, 10:10 PM
It is rather large and my block isn't quite big enough so it goes on diagonally. I have been colouring it with promarkers and then I tried distress inks with a water brush, can't decide which I like best - then I saw yours. Stunning!!
I have a bigger stamp than that and I use the plate from my big shot, bit awkward, but not heavy. Can't do controlled lowering, any attempt at delicacy causes me to smudge, drop or lose my balance! LOL

Sorry to be so late commenting on the final couple of cards but been AWOL for a bit - wonderful cards Marzi & Looby!

Lovely scene Marzi (I think you were the only one to go for that theme actually, I was too chicken to try it! lol), really summery & reminds me of trips to the beach as a child (where I probably got dressed up in a very similar white dress, which you then got told off for if you got it dirty! lol), lovely card! :star:

Beautiful card Looby (as always!), yet again just shows how much interest & dimension you can capture & achieve using an all white theme, beautiful dies you've used for the mats too & I love the gems on the butterfly, so pretty! :star:

Thought I'd caught up on all I'd missed during my fortnight away from the forum, but hadn't yet commented on the last few lovely cards in the June swap...

Susan - What a stunner of a first swap card! Love the window and the beautiful butterfly xx

Kitten - Beautiful card. As the others said, your usual immaculate standard  I, too, love the tiled effect, it's a great way to achieve a different look with your stamps xx

Lovely card, Macey. Love all the embossing and the pretty flowers with the iridescent sequins in the middle look fab against the white xx

Marzi - Lovely, summery card. Beautiful image and the matting and layering is spot on xx

Looby - Beautiful card. Love the cut work and I always love the look of the gems down the centre of the butterfly's body, looks so pretty. Your use of gems on the card set the white off a treat xx

Rainbowwand - Lovely card. I love paper piecing, think it always looks really good, and this one has been done particularly beautifully xx
