I am thinking of making a dress for my Granddaughter and like the look of Tanya Whelan fabric. Does anyone know where it can be found for really good prices. I don't think we have any sponsors selling fabric.

You can get Tanya Whelan fabric here http://www.cottonpatch.co.uk/acatalog/Tanya_Whelan_Fabrics.html at £2.85 per 1/4 metre. Don't know that it's the best price, but the fabric sure is pretty & I've shopped with them before & had good service.

I second what genierose has said. They have a really good service, no they are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and you do get your stuff.

Thank you Genierose and Muffin Top I have now found it at £2.60 a quarter metre at RU Crafts (http://www.rucraft.co.uk/sewing-fabric-and-quilting/fabrics/tanya-whelan?limit=all). Has anyone used them?

I have a couple of times, and get their catalogues. The were good for service as well.

I'm getting back into sewing but have enough fabric at the moment so have no excuse to buy any! (That doesn't include the Tilda Sewing Angel found on Cuddly Buddly of course, that come under decorative pieces for my crafty space!).

Thanks Muffintop. I find the one good thing thing about getting back into sewing is that it has made me fine down my cardmaking stash - otherwise I would be on one of those hoarder programmes, as the material stash is growing. I got the lovely Sarah Rose pattern in Sew Magazine and would like to make it for my Granddaughter; they are going into summer in Australia. It will cost about £40 to buy the material for everything including the bag, hence my penny pinching! I haven't made up my mind whether to go for it yet.

What a lovely site Granny Penny. Thankyou sooooo much. There are some tapestry cushion kits to die for.

Thanks Granny Penny, I've been wondering about subscribing to a sewing mag but I don't make clothes at the moment, I really like quilting and I might dip into making rag dolls as I have some flesh-coloured material somewhere.

I used to make rag dolls when my children were small Muffintop, I think all my friends children got them as presents at some point. I am not very keen on the Scandinavian style of doll although I know they are very popular. I think that's why I moved on to linen teddy bears!

I'm concentrating on home furnishings at present.

I enjoyed the Tilda show today. It is strange that I don't like the dolls as I love the fabric, etc. I was stunned at the price of the bag kit (£38.99 or 35.09 club price) although of course it had extras. When I looked on the RU Craft site (http://www.rucraft.co.uk/sewing-fabric-and-quilting/tilda/tilda-gardenparty-bag-kit) the kit on its own is only £17.99!

Edited to add: On Cuddly Buddy (http://cuddlybuddly.com/shop/v16100-tilda-purse-kit-gardenparty/) for £14.59!!!!

Edited again because this is madness: Also on Honeybee Cloths (http://www.honeybeecloths.co.uk/#/shop/4561100830/Tilda-Garden-Party-Purse-kit/1441343) for £14.99 with a flat rate postage (shown nice and clearly on the page) of £1.95
