I would like to know if they are easy to make, what they look like and any other ideas or suggestions for them.
I really want to buy a kit but I am abit scared to be honest just incase I make a pigs ear of them.

I think you should buy a kit and then at least you have the template of sizes, etc. It is fairly straightforward if you have a few pictures in the instructions as well so you can see how it all fits together. I made some a while ago but I didn't have a kit and I had to work out and measure where all the folds should be and it was really time consuming.

Michele Marsden's site has instructions for the Redhotbed sheets here (http://michelemarsdencraft.tv/acatalog/The_Waterfall_Card_Step_By_Step.html), Yazrose.
The sheets are available individually (I have some, but I think they're widely available elsewhere too) - I should think you could draw round one to use as a template if you like the effect ;)
There seem to be a few videos on You Tube too, presumably showing how to make them from scratch - I haven't looked at any, but may be worth checking them out?

Waterfall cards are easy enough to make from scratch if you have a box making scoreboard such as the Groovy Duo or the Crafter's Companion ones. I learned from a show on Create and Craft which featured Glenda Waterworth. The main thing you need to remember is that the mechanise that makes the tiles "flip" is never directly attached to the card if you cut it yourself. Or you have to cut a sort of upside down T shape and attach only the ends of the cross bar on the horizontal stroke of the T.
The way Glenda made it was to make the strip by simply cutting a piece from the long side of an A4 sheet of card and then cutting a seperate cross bar which was attached to the card with brads. The end of the long strip is attached to that cross bar and never at any time adhered directly to the card. It was getting that idea clear in my head that made the "how too" all suddenly fall into place for me.

if you go here http://www.thelilacgarden.co.uk/waterfalltutorial.html
there are some printable waterfall cards, you can then use them as a template for future use http://www.thelilacgarden.co.uk/miscellaneous.html
