Thanks Lee. I havent tried them myself yet but have been sorely tempted, as the colours are great. Now after what you have said about them, I've GOT to try them.
:hi:Hi lee:hi:
I know it sounds like a really dumb question:mysmilie_501:, but do you use them just like a normal crayon and is the overall effect like crayon or are they pan pastelly (if you know what I mean), sorry to bombard you with questions.
they are a wax type pencil in a plstic pen that you swizzel up to get the nib....you can get a point on them like a pencil. they are waterproof so you can draw with them and paint over with water colour and whatever to get different effexts ...I have used wax crayons well still do...these are lovely to draw with and colour in...the colours are lovely! Hoope that helps!xx I am sure there are vidios on youtube?
and lovely to colour in with!x

Daydreamer, I had a look at the deals and the only Faber Castell I could see was the polychromos pencils, which are not the same thing as mentioned above. They are however a gorgeous blendable pencil and if you get a good deal on it, well worth having.
LoobyLou love your Avatar but missing Looby feel like I am talking to someone else... :(
Yep as Looby says love pencils have done since I was a kid...but the Polychromos you use with solvents. They are lovely too!xx

Sorry Lee, lol. I just loved my happy pooch avatar. I would have used one of Poppy but whenever she smiles I never have the camera handy.
As for the polys, they were my favourite colouring medium before I got sucked into the world of alcohol pens! They are still excellent for providing extra highlights and shading where you might not have so many colours in a pen range, and of course, occasionally I still love to just use them on their own.

I just checked back at Amazon and that 120 tin of polys went for £70. Excellent price working out at 58p per pencil.

oops...sorry yes got the wrong pencils, but I did get these, :clapping: lucky, as had to go onto waitlist after turning round just as the item started and was put straight onto waitlist..phew!!!:sad:Finally got them,(even though chance of getting them was "poor") they will of course be a Christmas present to myself...I do prefer working with these, even over my copics, but the price was always out of reach apart from a small 12 pencil tin!

You'll love them Daydreamer. I am afraid in the past I was a colouraholic and I have the full 120 tin of these the full 132 prismacolours, then I also have Inktense Watercolour pencils, lyracolours and 12 of the FC chalk pencils, plus copics and prismas! Yes I know ludicrous amount of money spent on colouring.
I have been colouring with my prismas this afternoon, and I had forgotten what beautiful soft blending I can do with them.

:hi: Oh my...can't wait to use all the different colours, I do find they are so much more ~forgiving~ than copics...much easier to cover up errors of judgement

A good battery driven pencil eraser can not only cover up errors, but also help shade.
If you are looking for a good cardstock for blending with this type of pencil, may I suggest the Elegant 300gsm card that you can find on Joanna Sheen's website. It blends like a dream on there. I searched long and hard for decent cardstock to blend on, as some has too much of a key in it and grabs the wax too hard to let it blend out nicely. The Elegant also has the advance of printing nicely too, and the ink seems to sink into it better than say Neenah and therefore less chance of smearing the ink outline.
