Love this new channel, we have bought wire-work kit, enamel jewellery making and the wire. Fast delivery and very helpful UK based customer services.
Once I've got this under my hat will be ordering some of the gems and make myself some new earrings.
They seem a jolly bunch of people and the demos are helpful.

Its a brilliant idea shop all day and one postage...
plus they have a 30 day money back, even if you have started to make jewellery and then don't like it. They will take back even the half made items and refund you no questions asked.
I tend to watch this channel now rather than C+C. Even tape the live morning shows in case I miss anything while at work....

It is only on Sky but you can watch it on their website- had a look and decided it was too dangerous-lots of interesting tools etc- and I need to get to grips with what I've got befre I take up something else!

its also on freeview channel 43 from 9am to 1pm then becomes Gems tv again (which is a sister company) and sky 655 which has live shows 9am - 1pm then 5pm to 9pm
the first show each day is usually for newbies

I think I would now have to say "Handle with Caution". Lots of good things on the face of it, but there have been massive stock issues, incomplete orders, swiping out of baskets etc. Might be worth checking their facebook page to see what goes on. And if possible, avoid ordering on Bank Holiday weekends - they just can't cope!!!!!!!!!!! One thing they have in their favour, though, is that thei Customer Service is pretty well second to none.

Things get swiped out of baskets when people dont check out - simple as that. If someone is on the phone and you have something sitting in your basket and not checked out they will sell it to the person on the phone who wants to buy immediately. Common sense really. I read their facebook page and contribute to it, only a very small amount of people are unhappy with JM and rather than make their point and not watch again, they just go on the page every few days and moan about it. Suppose its like everything else try it and see. They do not have huge quantities of some items, but them they don't pretend that they have, you just have to be quick if you want it. I have ordered loads as have many of my jewellery friends and we all love it and not have any issues that were not dealt with. There is a freephone number too and a UK call centre and customer service, so I would say if you see something you like at a good price just go for it :)

I love this channel too, bought loads off them, it's on Virgin as well, have had a couple of issues with no stocks left even though I have checked out and the order has gone through to be given an email later to say something isn't available, this has happened about three times now. Also couple of the beads have cracked and spoilt some necklaces I made so I think there could be a slight problem with drilling on some of the more fragile beads but all in all I love it, and record the progs and watch the demos. Carol is my favourite she is absolutely mad. xxx

I also can't find anything on the website, brother has emailed them and said it needs to be easier as if you haven't the item number then it takes too long to search and you lose the will to live! lol
I have noticed that Charlie and Carol do tell you to check out of your shopping basket when things are selling out. But at least they do give you stock updates on how much is left.
I've made the shepherd hooks and part of the drop of a pair of earrings so far, just have to add the wirework to the larger stones and join them all together...was hoping to do that tomorrow but I have a project to do for work for Saturday!

You can now use words to search on there website , much easier to look up the goodies available......

I've quite enjoyed the few bits I've watched although they could do with some dampening material in the studio to cut down the echo. I'm very tempted by the mini anvil which I don't need because I already have a block for bashing things and I don't do very much of that anyway but I'm a sucker for miniature tools!

Yes their new website is much better but they are still saying there are a few teething probs with it. I was actually on the Wall of Fame yesterday much to my amazement but was well chuffed, it was a necklace and earring set I made for my friend's retirement present. Still loving it, just wish I had the money to have all the beautiful gems. xx

You're right Sugarplum, it is expensive, but I've slowed down on the purchases a bit now so hopefully can reign myself in. It does bring out the designer in you though. I fancy having a go at the jewel enamel but I'm just keeping myself under control. xx

You really must try it Truella and don't get hung up if you don't do very well, I find it's usually to do with the venue or advertising. I did one at Ragley Hall (very expensive) but successful, then I did one at the local park and it was rubbish because they hadn't advertised it and very few peeps came, but I would certainly try a few to get the feel of it and see how you do. If it isn't successful you only lose the fee for the stall and if it is you make some money and generally have a good time as well. xxx

How are all you jewellery makers getting on?

I am still just as obsessed as ever, have a ridiculous amount of gems now ( hundres and hundres of strands) doing loads of craft fairs and now have my gemstone/crystal jewellery for sale at a complemantary therapy centre.

Always do well at craft fairs and now building a good customer base. Have alomost 500 likes on my FB business page :)

Now starting to get really interested in the meanings and health benefits of the crystals so am now making jewellery with combinations from people with specific requirements.

card making ... whats that.....lol........im obssessed with the darn channel.........spent wayyyyyyyyy too much & sold nothing. could have something to do with the fact that ive given away all ive made [ which isnt much ].......im in love with the gems....its a worst addiction than paper stroking......they are going live for 12 hours come 1st nov........arrrrhhhhhh....cant stand that vicki woman.shame she is so silly & fake laughing as she is quite knowledgeable & when she could be passing on useful info she is cackling like an old witch..........the other day she was on with natalia & talk about common via culture was sooooooo bad.........im not a fuddy duddy at all just she makes me so blinking angry as laughing......ie oh these PINK pearls...........laughhhhhhhhhhh banging the desk top.....mustnt laugh as hubby is now home most days & bless him bring me a coffee in bed...... one morning she cracked out a belter & he spilt coffee all over a chinese rug ,,,,,he was NOT impressed with her.neither before nor since...........anyway enough about her......loving the beads etc etc etc.....& im really less stressed out than paper/card stacked up.......problem now is what to do with BIG cupboards full of card etc [ mainly HD ] with a big splattering of kanban thrown in for good luck......tru-ella good luck honey bum with all the craft fairs etc...... love to all xx

OK, please don't shoot me - I'm delicate this morning! BUT.. I didn't realise the channel was tutorial - thought it was sell, sell, sell - like Ellis's jewellery channel! I shall be having to watch, trouble is, I really, really don't need another craft to follow - id don't, really I don't!!

sam
27-10-2013, 10:08 AM
Don't watch it Jacksmissis, because once you've got the jewellery making bug, you'll find that there is no cure (and I've got boxes and boxes of beads, charms, findings to prove it).

It really is a bad move. Tina Cox (the parchment lady) has been infected with this bug! She showed photos of 2 beaded stick pins involving different techniques - really wish I hadn't seen them!!!!

If you are interested in the tutorials then thebest time to watch is 1pm -5pm as the new live afternoon shows are more tutorial based so there should be lots of good ideas. Im enjoying making a few things and I have managed to sell a few pieces to feed the habit
