Mine arrived yesterday and I've had real fun making envelopes to fit shaped cards made with my nesties. I've even made an 8x8" which fits my largest grand scalloped square die.
Over the years I've tried various templates etc and they all end up such a fuss but this board is so easy. I've used just a few of my Gelli prints and as I think they look pretty (!) I thought I'd post a pic. 4431
Thanks for this Jammy. I didn't think it did 8x8 envelopes -- good to know that it does! Did you need to do those calculations yourself or are they on the 'crib sheet' on the envelope maker?

Blimey you've been busy! I did have a look at the envelope punch but haven't bought one yet because I haven't even tried using my Crafters Companion board yet. I have a ton of ready made envelopes I am gradually working my way through.

Yes I'd love to know the measurements used for 8x8 too!
Lovely product but I will still get use out of the CC boards for boxes and the deep envelopes. I love making them for some reason :giggle:

I love mine too although I got confused as I assumed since all the measurements were squares that the end result would be only a square envelope ! LOL Just me being silly the 'maximum' size on the list is 6X8 1/2 but since an 8x8 is a square card than just pinch in the middle when putting one side corner to corner and you have marker to put under the punch bit so you can start the envelope, after checking all the other sizes 3X3, 4X4 ...etc it always adds two inches and some for the square you need for that kind of envelope. I would start with a sheet of 12X12 and see if works...actually that will be my task tomorrow it's 1.35am as I write this so don't want to make noise. Just checked checked with a ruler from one side to the other and it gives 8 inches plus some leeway so just use a 12X12 and just find the middle of one side to get you started.

Yes Fab, that's exactly what I did, just to see if it worked. The card would need to be a little smaller than 8x8 but not by much.
I don't make large cards but nice to know I can if I need to.
That's really interesting as the reviews for this online have not been good.

I've only just got round to using this - I have to say I agree with all previous comments - its absolutely brilliant. Will definitely be using it on a regular basis - and so easy to use. Much better and quicker than my usual envelope board - once you have the right size paper its wham bam done! No cutting out the corners with scissors.
Thanks to Fabyon for heads up on making approx. 8 x 8 envelope. I've just tried it. I've steered clear of making any 8 x 8 cards up to now - because of the envelope - but I shall now go bigger!

As I've said in a previous thread - I prefer to read reviews from a trusted source i.e. HERE! Will now consider buying one!

I do sometimes make envelopes and have a few templates for various sizes: a couple of bought ones and some home-made from trial and error or by deconstructing a ready-made envelope. A tool that makes it quick and easy to make different sizes sounds like a great idea.
Jammy, I'm interested that you put your beautiful gelli-printed patterns on the INSIDE of the envelope - I'd definitely put them on the outside, so the postie and the recipient get to enjoy the lushness before opening it.

I just feel Mitzi that its easier to read the address on the plain paper. I sometimes decorate the back flap and front bottom corners. Also it gives a nice (!) surprise when opened.
