Now then, this isn't going to be particularly hi-tec & I rather suspect I already know the answer, but just out of curiosity, does anyone have a possible solution to (8 y/o) DD's crafty dilemma:
DD's teacher gave her a jewellery making kit as a leaving pressie - just a cheapie thing with a couple of metal dog-tag type pendants, a chain, some of that clear elastic thread, some plastic beads & flat back gems,a couple of metal charms & 2 tubes of what they refer to as 'craft glue'. The glue is coloured & gives the impression that it would dry both dimensional & maybe pearly. It's exceptionally cheap stuff that just about dries a bit glossy on paper, after having of course gone flat. So far, no surprises.
I had a nightmare getting the flat back gems to stick; cosmic shimmer didn't touch it, & in fact kind of just congealed to a white tacky (but not sticky) goo. Tried my other PVA, HI Tack very sticky all purpose glue (by Impex IIRC, gold bottle, not Aleene's) which eventually did the trick after a good 24hrs.
Step 2, DD decorates with this nasty coloured PVA yuck - that was 2days ago & so far it's still tacky & marks if you stick a finger nail in it *sigh*
DD is desperate to give one of these as a gift to her Aunty, but I don't know what to do to make the damn stuff dry! I was thinking about a coat of Glossy Accents, but it might just make it worse & the glue I've used so far on it probably cost twice as much as the kit did! If I add in glossy accents I may as well have taken DD shopping to buy a pressie for Aunty instead LOL
