Hi did anyone watch the great British sewing Bea, i just loved the little clam shell case that the chap made, like the ones in the kits by clover, however the clover kits are very expensive, does anyone know anywhere where I can down load a pattern to make these?

I didn't watch the program, but I did buy a clamshell template several years ago. The one for the paper was in metal, while the one used for the fabric is in plastic. I found it easier to use a lightweight iron-on interfacing instead of paper as this could be left inside the patch. I ran a gathering line across the top of the patch so that the gathers would be smooth. Each patch is then sewn to a lining cut to size. I used an invisible stitch to hand sew my patches, but I have also seen running stitches used. I didn't fancy making anything too large, ie a quilt, but settled for teacosies.
