I'll start the ball rolling ...
This card has been made by JSC and I've been trying to work out how it's been made!! I'm still not sure, but I do know this - it's really effective! It's got different textures and layers, and both themes have been incorporated - Lavender and Lace. I initially thought that the central 'disc' was some kind of clay, not card. Please tell us JSC which products you used! Thank you very much.

Ooh JSC that's gorgeous.
LJ your beautiful card arrived this morning. I've taken a photo and I'll try to upload it tonight but I'm still struggling to finish my card for JSC. Oops! I think I'm nearly there, though.
Thank you girls for kind comments. I made the card from using a mask lace design, filled it in with cosmic shimmer paste, cut round the shape. simple but affective .

My Lovely card from waterlily
I am so sorry that the picture does not do it justice but I could not get the light right due to all the sparkle
The background is a lace effect made with lavender glitter.not sure how this was done but it is very effective
a lovely stamped coloured and cut out flower lavender fairy has been mounted.onto the base card and lacey paper border runs down the edge
Thank you Pam

I find it difficult to get good photos of some cards too, especially if they're textured. But I can make out the unusual background above, what a different idea!

Thank you for the details JSC. I thought it might have been the sparkle medium from Imagination crafts. Whatever the product, the end result is very effective. I love the texture.

Sorry haven't managed to upload the picture yet.
My card for JSC is going in the post today, first class. I hope it makes it OK and the postie doesn't take the stickers on the envelope too literally. (You'll see what I mean when/if it arrives.) Edit: I've added a note to the postie just in case.

Here is my lovely lavender and lace card from Little Jan. The white base card has been embossed, then there's a shimmery purple layer, then a shimmery white/gold layer cut with an Anna Griffin flourish die. None of the shimmer shows up in the photo; sorry. The image is a digi stamp from Joanna Sheen's Daisy & friends, coloured with Stampin' Up markers. The dress has been paper-pieced and layered with a delicate lace ruffle. Her waist sash is a real ribbon and she has two pearl buttons.
Thanks so much, LJ, for all the info and for my lovely card.

And now I'm online at home, I can see the pics of the cards made by Victoria and Waterlily. Lovely cards, both of them.
I remember making a load of glittered lace backgrounds a few years ago but don't know what became of them all - perhaps they're in my storage unit. I used some but definitely not all of them.

I love the flourish die LJ - so lovely with the dark background. What a pretty image too.
Thank you very much Mitzi for your card, the postie had a good chuckle at the envelope. will upload ASP.

This is the card I sent to JSC (she's happy for me to post it):

For some reason, "arsenic and old lace" popped into my head soon after I read the theme, and I just couldn't get it out! So that's what I made! My cryptic references to the envelope earlier were because I put several "Arsenic - poison" labels on it, then thought that the postman/woman might think it was for real and there could be problems, so I added a "dear postie, there isn't really any arsenic" kind of note.

How different is that Mitzi! I have to admit that I had to look it up, as I had no idea what it was all about!

I haven't even seen the film (or play) so I have no idea why it popped into my head and then took up residence. I'm going through a bit of a weird phase... although my July swap isn't creepy in the least - not yet, anyway, and I've pretty much decided what I'm going to do. I seem to have a lot of ideas at the moment; just wish I had more time to try them all out. Then when I have the time, my mojo deserts me!
