View Full Version : September swap - the cards

I've received Little Jan's amazing creation on the "School days" theme. Not a card, a 3-d wonder (I think she knows my fondness of 3-d papercrafting.) It's a satchel in a pink patterned card, incredible detail, and it opens up just like a real satchel (straps) to reveal three exercise books with some, erm, less than perfect homework written in them. It's absolutely brilliant and the detail is incredible. I feel like JJ going over the top with the superlatives here.

I'm afraid I don't have a means of uploading photos at the moment (am restricted to accessing the forum via my phone or work computer and I can't do it on either) so LJ, do you have pics you can upload? People need to see it!

Here is the picture of the swap I sent to Mitzi
I forgot to take pictures of the homework books though
The satchel was made from a download, where you have a choice of prints or a plaint template, I opted for a print and a plain( only cost just over £5.00 for the both)
I can use my own printed cardstock to make gift bags even for men if I use a leather look card

That's an amazing work of art. Apologies, I've only posted my card today. Had a bit of a nightmare making it. I have a lili of the valley stamp of a school boy that I was going to use, but can I find the blessed thing? Had to come up with a plan B, so sorry it's not really on theme!

Well you've done better than I have. I've struggled too, the card's not quite finished, and I'm not happy with it. Sorry!

This one has been a real toughy!
Schooldays sounded an easy theme but I have had the same problem as Mitzi and Glingle! Therefore running late ....hope I do not get a detention or be sent to sit outside the Head teachers office. ( makes a change from being on the naughty step I suppose.......)

Little Jan

Lol I,ll let you off this time

Just a little advice for those struggling
Don't do what I used to do and overthink the theme
A simple Apple ,blackboard or alphabet is just fine
Even conkers or a catapult is apt lol

Mitzi

I was going to go for an apple for the teacher but then I thought maybe everyone would do that. I should know by now that usually everyone does different things; there are some really creative people on here. Tried something a bit more ambitious and it turned out to be too difficult for me! It's nearly done; hopefully I'll have chance to finish it either tonight or tomorrow night.

Your card arrived today, but it's too dark to take a photo now, so I'll take one before going to work tomorrow morning ready for tomorrow night. It's right on the theme, not need to be sorry!

5835This is the lovely card that I got from Victoria......each embellishment has been coloured and individually cut out..the detail is amazing! The protractor and set square have even got measurements marked on them!
Not sure if it was an observation test for me or whether you got distracted but 3x3 = 6????

She's a pupil, not a teacher, and she's been asked to come out to explain why the previous answer's incorrect.

Silhouette Cameo to the rescue again. Brilliant school equipment, so easy to resize.

This is my card, made by Glingle. It's a really pretty image and fits in perfectly with the theme. This is my 30th year of teaching, and not once have I been offered an apple so I really appreciate this card!

Mitzi's amazing card arrived today. Wow, did you set yourself a challenge! The card front alone would have met the brief, but the inside is amazing! I loved the humour too, "teacher's pets"' brilliant! I'm not even going to apologise for overuse of the exclamation mark, it deserves every one of them.
I will post pics later when I can display it properly, so you can truly appreciate all the work that went into it.

A card with a very apt saying.
My daughter would love this as she is a recption teacher, although at times I think her sayingss would be unrepeatable lol
