Hi all,

I don't know if anybody has used the gilding polishes, I've just discovered that I have two unopened pots. I've been decorating and have painted some large wooden chests/boxes and wondered if I could use these to distress/highlight the edges (my paining is rubbish, I've used the Everlong chalk paints but they are full of brush marks). Does anybody know if they can be used on wood and if so, would the polish rub off easily or does it set permanently?

Any advice is gratefully received.

Thanks
Sam

Pebeo gilding waxes can definitely be used on furniture as that is their intended use and they contain real metal (Sheena uses them on home décor items). I don't know whether CE gilding waxes are intended to be as durable, but I think John and Lisa use them on home décor, so I assume they must set permanently once you've burnished them.
