Yes, part of Jewellery Maker … it’s called HobbyMaker … launching at the beginning of March … all things Paper Craft.

Interesting. Is it on Freesat?

Not sure Roz … It looks like it will be sharing the same channel as their sister company Sewing Street, so it may be afternoons/evenings. If Sewing Street is on Freesat then I assume it will be the same. I’ve just had a quick look on Sewing Street’s website and it says Freeview and Sky - online - youtube.

I never knew half these channels existed
We have all the sky channels (hubby got a fantastic deal after telling them we were leaving due the high price and that we had been with them since day one)
Mind you I don’t watch shopping or craft programs anymore
If there is something I want to know or buy I use good old google search
So I can cut out all the chat lol
Too many good drama shows to catch up on
I must have wasted years watching QVC and C&C but at the time I found them interesting
But in the end all the taking your craft to another level gave me vertigo :pound:

I can only watch The Craft Store on my laptop as we have Virgin. C&C lost my interest when it became endless Tattered Lace and Kanban. I do tape some Seamless Sunday stuff, or watch it on catch-up, but don't watch live as I'm in church when it's on.
I am using YouTube much more - good Sizzix shows without the heavy sell for example. I think the selling channels hook in new crafters, but after a while it becomes time to move on!

We learn, we evolve, we move on. I only watch crafting shows on my computer while I'm in my craft room, usually Catch-up. I'm sort of holding my breath to see what happens with the channels after the 25th; maybe I won't watch any then.

As an aside - favourite TV programme at the moment = Lego Master Australia. Anyone else?

Emails from DMC are driving me nuts with their constant 'next level' rubbish. As we have all asked before, how many levels are there?

My boots get filled with my feet, no room for crafting stuff in them. I had a bit of a sort out a couple of weeks ago, found a load of craft stuff in one of the suitcases. Turfed out all but a few special ATC's, took the rest down to the fluffit/woofit shop. I had intended to put other 'stuff' in the empty cupboard. It is now well stuffed with knitting wool, which was not quite what I had in mind.

I think I really ought to stop buying 'stuff'.

Oooh didn't know it was on, usually watch the Lego programmes though. I love Lego but not very good at making my own designs - just follow instructions lol.

Not for long though as TCS will only be online LOL! But you’ll be able to watch the ‘new’ C&C. I find it bizarre that they’re going with the C&C name seeing that Hochanda/TCS are the new owners and C&C were the ones bought out.

Bit like the Yorkshire Bank who bought out Virgin Money. YB no longer exists, except on my savings card as they haven't given me a new one yet. I still don't like the Virgin cards, the debit and credit card look virtually the same to me. I shudder to think what my savings card will look like when it eventually turns up, assuming it does of course. Just had a look, it doesn't expire for quite some time.

But I'll also be able to watch C&C on their app when it leaves Virgin - not that I watch either channel much anyway. And now I have access to all the railway and engineering programmes on UKTV when I want to watch them I won't have time for much else.

Sounds a lot like Walters Towers CSF. 'Himself' watches anything with steam, railways and plus stuff like the Yesterday Channel. I sort of keep track of what is on, mostly via the sound, as I tend to be stitching, or something of that ilk.

My hubby does too, also Sky history. All the old comedy programmes on Gold and old films. I leave him to it after the 10 o'clock news and he scrolls through the listings. He has watched a few John Wayne cowboys and Clint Eastwood's cowboy and detective ones lately. He records a lot to the Sky+ box then nags me to watch any programme I had saved so he can save more.:argue:

According to an announcement on jewellery maker facebook page:

From the 1st March JewelleryMaker will broadcast from 8am until 1pm ......
..... on Freeview 72, Sky 674, Freesat, YouTube and of course online in HD via the JewelleryMaker app and website.
HobbyMaker will then broadcast from 1pm on Freeview 73, bringing you everything you need to get started with papercrafts, mixed media and more.

So the papercraft will be on from 1pm, but they dont say until what time. I suspect that they will be targeting newbies to papercraft. They are looking for companies to work with so we may see a few more moving across ...

It’s about time the powers that be explained properly to the people who will be paying their wages what is going on with Create&Craft/TCC with regard to presenters, products etc. All this shilly- shallying around is extremely annoying. I do not believe that they do not know who is going to be working there on Feb 25th and what on earth do they mean by TCC is going to be online - will there be demos to watch etc, etc? Why all the secrecy? It’s worse than waiting for the deadline for transfers with football clubs.

Jazzydrury
19-02-2022, 05:48 PM
It really is a shambles, the only ideas on the future is what the presenters are saying.

Crafters Companion and Paper Dienamics are not moving over.

Dave Bradford has said, he isn’t likely to move so maybe that’s him gone, few of the background team at C&C have done there final shift, Martha Cleary on C&C has said Tuesday Is her last day, so we know that.

Dave Bradford was on earlier saying it will be a sad week

This is only my guess towards The Craft Store online stuff, so if this is wrong don’t slaughter me.

But I would say the Craft Store will only be the website, everything else will be Create and Craft, I’m a loyal Create and Craft viewer, but I feel bad got those who have watched Craft Store for years, I’ve watched some but only in the last few weeks.

Dax
19-02-2022, 06:12 PM
I think it will be Create and Craft in name only. I checked on C&C's web site on the terms and conditions for returns and they now do not allow returns unless in saleable condition, as in not used at all. Can't connect any electrical item to try it out. Buyer has to pay for returns.

It starts with Here at The Craft Store

By saleable condition examples include:

Not plugging in or powering on any electrical device or machine
Not using any electrical device or machine
The original box & contents must be returned in full in a saleable condition

I would be very surprised if the postage on C&C does not go up to the same as on The Craft Store.

I feel sorry for all the staff who are going to lose their jobs on both C&C and The Craft Store.

Seems a good reason not to buy the thing in the first place. Surely if a thing isn't working then it isn't fit for purpose, so should be returnable. I have returned a couple of items to Amazon due to them not being of merchantable quality, as in not working. They always pay for the returns too.

PJP not sure that will happen as today Tonic were 'The Hot Product' with Tim Holtz Maxi Guillotine in the email I received this morning from TCS. A few years ago Tonic had products on Crater's Companion web site then they vanished. Just maybe Tonic will keep a foot in each camp, who knows. Will just have to wait an see.

That is probably why Sara is moving on to where she will be the biggest contributor.

As for a machine not working according to trading standards the buck stops with the retailer, not the manufacturer. It is up to the retailer to fix it.

I've previously contacted Katie Sue (the new owners) via their FB page and been told they have no intention of changing anything about the forum. Which is great that they want it to stay the same but we really need an Admin to do behind the scenes work such as monitoring spammers.

A lot of the 'guests' will be 'bots. And the new members with weird names are spammers but as they have to be accepted before being able to post then the forum is safe from being swamped by them.
If you look at the bottom of the front page of the forum is shows our newest 'member'. Clicking on their name will take you to their profile and it probably say they joined that day and were last active the same day - that's probably when they registered to join the forum. But if you then go to the Members List you won't find their name in the list - because they haven't been accepted as a member by Admin. I pity any one who takes on the role of Admin in the future - there'll probably thousands of members waiting to be aproved!!!

Crafty Roo Designs are joining HobbyMaker (9th March 2.00pm). I don't know the brand, but their stamps look interesting.

One of the presenters from The Craft Store was on today - sorry, haven't got a clue what his name is.

I think they're still working on it and it will be launched in due course. Or maybe not.

Don't know where to put this because there isn't a Hobby Maker section? Just wanted to say I really enjoyed the Crafty Roo Designs shows today - I can feel a little spending coming on lol.

Dreamees joining too from the email from Hobbymaker I just got - are they all part of the craft firms on CC’s website? Wonder if Tonic will go too?

Tonic seem to be all over the schedule today and tomorrow but SW with all her new ranges was yesterday.

Dreamees doesn’t surprise me. As during the end of there time at the old Create and Craft, Hayley and Carol nearly gave the whole thing up, but we’re saved when Hochanda came along.

We know some staff have moved over from old Create and Craft, maybe it was some who they didn’t get on with

And Craft Buddy

I don't mind Craft Buddy, at least they have different types of crafts on their shows.
