I am feeling really pleased with myself, I started my Christmas cards this week AND found a new technique for making quick but lovely cards. I have been using liquid pearls through my stencils. I've only ever dry embossed with them before as I didn't have any embossing paste or palette knife. Well I tried liquid pearls and a lolly stick - works a treat and I might even finish a tube of liquid pearls one day :clapping:

I'll post some photos soon :X

Looking forward to seeing your cards Blarf. I would never have thought of using liquid pearls like that!

I've tried with a cocktail stick, then forgot they were wet and smudged them!

I also tried my stained glass effect pens (2+yrs old) for the first time. What a mess...never again!

Great idea blarf - I have to admit I had wondered about using Liqiud Pearls, Pearly Doodles etc and given your sucess with the liquid pearls I'm forced to wonder if the formulation is that much different from the specialist embossing pastes - perhaps a little more runny so they can be squeezeable from the bottles. Glenda sells a type of Liquid Pearl by a company called Riva - forget the name of the actul product - maybe just Pearly Pens but I have seen those used to coat a rubber stamp - once set you can peel it off the stamp and you have a sort of stamped into UTEE look and I beleive others have had success doing that technique wiht some of the other squeezeable pearly products that are out there.

Oh I saw that technique too but had forgotten about it - off to have a play with that once the GP has finished :)

Well it took a long time but I've finally uploaded some photos to my photo bucket. The link is here:

I also tried the technique with pouring liquid pearls on to a stamp, it was a bit of a messy disaster so I won't bother again :)

They're great Blarf. The Liquid Pearls give a lovely effect. The second one with the blue swirly tree is my favourite.

Lovely cards, I have been thinking about digging out the old embossing boards again so you have now given me the inspiration - I also needed a kick up the behind to start my Christmas cards and this has done the job and given me the enthusiasm for doing it! Thank you for sharing your lovely designs

Very effective and quite lovely. Well done you for coming up with the idea.

Thanks everyone, I don't think I can take credit for coming up with the idea though, I'm sure I must've seen someone doing it, or something similar at least. I think the square blue one is my favourite, I like where I was going with the black and white but wish I'd used a more block-y stamp on the background (my next effort will use my clarity snowflake or holly corner I think).

I'm busy making many snowflakes with my spellbinders create a flake and all the scraps of card I had lying around so I'll try to post those soon.

Lovely cards, problem is when you create something that beautiful you want to keep it for yourself (at least I do).

Lovely cards and what a great idea, I have some thick 3d pearly paints wonder if they would work too. Will have to have a little play.

Only got a couple of stencils so far but tempted to buy more when I see such good results. Haven't got any of the liquid pearl type products - yet!
