Would anyone know what the optimum weight card is for cutting and embossing in the Cuttlebug please?
Thank You.

I think it is less a case of optimum weight more of card type. Some cards have to firm a surface to take embossing, whether it is thin or thick. By and large though my best results have been with 250 (ish) msg. Pearlised and mirri card is especially good because of the softer surface.
Remember the trick is to have enough pressure on the card itself to allow for a good embossing or diecut. Extra layers of waste card (shim?) helps a lot.

No question is stupid if you dont know the answer, craftycat has given good suggestions, but a lot of it is trial and error in this case, have a little play with various cardstocks and see what pleases you

I never think about it Jan, I just try and feel that the sandwich is too tight or too loose for a good emboss or cut. As RW says tis trial and error!

Thank you RW and Roc.
My question was really to know what to buy as I'm just starting out.
I am waiting for the OTO Bazzill from last week if it ever gets here, LOL.

Well I use mirri card and all sorts of paper, I mainly emboss and pearlescent looks good, but as I say I don't worry about weight much, I am sure someone will come along who is more helpful, not tried Bazzill with it.
