Os it just me or has it all got a bit samey lately? There are hardly any demos and it seems to be the samre old kits on time after time. QVC should be a trailblazer, not a follower. The buyers need to get to some craft fairs for ideas, or even trawl you tube! They should also pay whatev er it costs to get Leonie baCK!! I love Dawn, but the products are boring

I agree, have been trying to get back into cardmaking and scrapbooking and I just seem to be bored by the lack of inspiration the kits gor demos provide. I prefer it when they give more time to show us tips and tecchniques on new and exciting products...

Sorry QVC I dont watch much now as its so boring. Mind you its saving me a fortune. I used to buy a lot. They could get into the dies like Nellie Snellen etc and also do more MS and I am sure then I would buy... Mind you that is not what Dawn likes to do, she seems to be the queen of matting and layering, no critising her but I am way way past that stage and I'm, not bragging...

I am sure Dawn would rather do more than matting and layering! I guess QVC play to their audience and tbh even those on here who say how dull the craft is do buy TSV's and the like...

I totally agree crafting seems to have disappeared from the craft shows its mostly pop it out and stick it on, we hardly ever get to see techniques any more, this only seems to happen when we get Tim Holtz on which is always inspirational. I cant think of the last time I saw a rubber stamp of a design I liked, and some of their silicone stamps they have been selling dont not seem to hold the ink well with the ink beading on the stamp, I had to send my last purchase back, I used to think that we could rely on Dawn and QVC to sell us quality crafting products, but I think that the quality has deteriorated, and most of the artwork nowadays is not at all appealing to me, i would like to see more of the quality of products like stampin up, graphicus, K&CO, Penny Black to name a few.

Again as has been said before, QVC is a shopping channels that sells some craft products, it is not a craft shopping channel. They sell what people buy

I think QVC needs to find more craft experts especially as Dawn isn't always available every week.

=do you remember the topaz forum ? it was closed because of all the rubbish posted about Dawn , anyone else would have crawled in a hole and never come out , but she rose above it and continued on QVC

I wonder how many of those viewing the threads are like me - given up watching the shows because they're so-o-o-o-o boring and keep an eye on the threads instead, in the hope that something interesting will crop up. I used to Sky+ and whizz through at 30x, but this is simpler.

It's QVC's loss, because once upon a time I'd watch the shows and get caught up in the 'jump to the phones before it sells' hype. Most likely that's what'll happen next week with the Martha Stewart shows. But it won't be happening on a Tuesday any more. Not until they inject some new life into their Craft output.

they don't actually care if you watch or not so long as you buy!!

that's right Sheila and they do sell some good stuff, if I'm honest I don't watch much (mostly cos I'm a work during the week) but buy plenty, possibly something to do with this forum lol

Now MS is a different story, I will stop in the hope I like it and buy it... Hopefully they will learn from it and brings us more but we switch off altogehter. I agree with ob1

I get quite amazed at myself these days!! can switch off within minutes of a show starting, that would never have been the case a few years ago. There just does not seem to be much new stuff on at the minute or interesting guests. Hopefully the MS hours will be the exception if it's not all Christmas.

Aside from the Cinch, all my QVC purchases of late have been Last Clicks. When you don't watch the shows, it leaves more time to consider just how much you want the item, to compare prices on the internet, factoring in the P&P... I'm spending as much on craft as I did a year ago, but the proportion of that spend going into QVC's coffers is substantially reduced. I'm sure everyone who's turning off of a Tuesday would say the same thing.

And if QVC don't care, that would explain why we're starting to see threads bemoaning their complacency and lack of vision.

Yep, I get more from here than on QVC. LOL

I think they have 'new' crafters watching every week so as we become more skilled and knowledgable we move on. I do find also that with it being 'in the family' so to speak on QVC its very repetative! I do think it is more for card makers? Where as C&C have different people on every hour nearly and having crafters like Steph and Leonie and others there is more opportunity for interesting stuff. Also there is a more depth approach the whats on sale as a whole hour is taken up with a selection of materials, more detailed crafting and more ideas. I think C&C have it sewn up, folded and stamped!!!!!!!!

That may be so, but I don't trust them to buy from. I may watch a demo but buy the products else where, if everyone starts doing that we'll not have a dedicated craft channel for long.

I think its me I have changed and my needs are so different to the concept of crafts on QVC. I will be always fond of Dawn as she got me into this stuff while i was ill off work i watched the craft show. I think there is nothing wrong in it and hope all new crafters will get what i did when I fisrt watched!

I used to really look forward to watching QVC's craft shows, now I can't really be bothered unless something special is on like the Cinch. I am fed up with the endless kits that just require assembling, and that's it. I understand that they have to cater for everyone and that includes people who are just starting out, or haven't got much time on their hands when they craft. Fair enough. But there is too much of the same thing on. They rarely have anything on for the advanced crafter. I would like to see more Ranger products, Crafty Individuals stamps (they did a few and then stopped), and stamping and scrapbooking shows in general. The only things I buy from QVC are some of Kanban and La Blanche stamps, MS punches and good value tools like the Cinch.

I agree with all that's been said here, but today I had some stitching to do and so I wanted to sit in front of the TV and mostly stitch and sort of listen to it in the background. I thoroughly enjoyed both shows with Anthony and Dawn. He cracks me up and she was also on fine form and made me smile quite a few times. Oh yes, was I sposed to be watching it for the craft? couldn't tell you what they were selling, lol, but enjoyed it anyhow.

Agree as well with all thats been said...............I thought it was just me getting fed up with QVC, but great to see that its not, the shows are the same every week & I once would never have missed any of Dawns shows but do now, they are boring.

its true. I too watch the shows for entertainent value rather than the content. There deffo needs more stuff for advanced crafters. I'd like more Ranger,\Tim Holtz, Technique Tuesday and Altered Books shows.

Lol my idea of a nightmare Lynnie, but I see your point 'advanced' crafters must be catered for as well as those who just like inky stuff :) but I would turn off if it was all Ranger stuff.

I remember hearing something recently that C&C no longer rely as much on sales as they once did, but having realised that so many of us are savvy enough to go find better prices elsewhere, they now charge all but their most popular selling guests to appear on the channel, and make most of their money that way.

Sounds like a good business plan to me!

as you have all said much of the stuff they sell is so much the same week in week out,and some of the companies that they had on board seem to now reappear on create and craft instead.

I read somewhere that some of the suppliers changed to C & C when QVC in America stopped selling craft and they went to HSN. Until C & C sort out their customer (lack of it) service and bring the call centre back to the UK I will not buy from them. Too many problems in the past. I'm not saying QVC never have any problems I myself had one a few weeks ago but a friendly free phone call and it was sorted, item replaced and a letter apologising and a partial refund given as well.

At the end of the day, QVC is a shopping channel that sells craft items along with other items. So do ID, but of course also have C&C so they can offer much more all round.
I know everyone knows this but thought I'd say it anyway LOL. :)

I know some of you prefer QVC. Personally I much prefer C&C. Rarely buy from QVC. But then I use a variety of craft shops online and not just C&C.

Agree Lilac Froggy but as a shop (albeit one on TV) I do not find that even when I see a demo it makes me want to rush out and buy the item, unlike when I go to a B&M shop where just seeing a sample or just a new item on the shelf can make me HAVE to have that. Only reason I do not use C&C is to be honest I like to scrapbook and am a paper addict - they do not seem to do 12x12 papers on there whenever I look - maybe you can put me right as I would hate to feel I was missing out on something !!!! Also had baaaadd experiences in the past with delivery and customer service which after reading on here do not seem to have improved much I'm afraid :(
