I got this absolute beauty from Princess4Wiz yesterday:

It came with a wrap:

and when I opened it, it looked like this:

A lush peacock ensamble of which I can't quite capture the rich colours - or the bling! I think the backing paper could be an Artylicious one from the Peacock Summer Party CD? If it isn't, someone else is designing Waterworth stylee LOL Each of the 'eyes' on the stamped Kanban peacock has been glittered (with an irridescent glitter, poss one of the HunkyDory ones?) & then a clear gem stuck on. The wing has also been glittered as well as the plume...It fair took my breath away when I opened up the wrap, thank you Princess

There's also an insert, with a verse:

"This card is for you, dear Wellington
And making it I had lots of fun

The CT Forum theme was bling
I made a hell of a mess with my glittering!

It was in my hair and all over the floors
I even found some on our poor doggies' paws!

The result was well worth it, I hope you agree
And it comes with love to you, from me!"

I certainly do agree!!!

Thank you, Welly! I'm so glad you liked my card. You are quite correct in your deductions. The paper is from the Artylicious 'Peacock Summer Party' CD and the glitter is Angel Whispers from Hunkydory! The verse is all mine LOL. Perhaps we should call you Inspector Wellington now? :giggle:

Oh and congratulations on your Race for Life achievement! I admire you greatly for doing it!

Hubby isn't too fond of glitter, Phree, so I have to be a bit careful! The dogs don't seem to mind too much though :giggle:

I really did have fun making it, even though I had the collywobbles after I'd posted it!

Just a lot :D, but I think of the fun making out weigh the collywobbles; just, and I know it stretches me; dependant on how stressfull my world is, & the wee step of improvement so a bit more ful-fillment each swap card gives me, and I know I'm not the most original card maker; my reason/excuse is that I'm a technologist/scientist not an artist, but I adore trying for another card maker (my DH did pass comment tonight, about why I put in so much for some people that get my cards to just go uh!! and he kind of gets that I don't care about uh! I just enjoy the making :D) but I do know that when I make a card for one of you; you know it took time, time that I was trying to make you :D I know how much I enjoy the cards I recieve

Glad you like it Looby, it is one of my first proper stamping attempts!
I stamped the image with Versafine (as it is so delicate) & then embossed it with fine embossing powder! (I was too slow at first as the Versafine dries quite quickly but then got it right by just grabbing & chucking it the moment the stamp came off the paper! lol)

I enjoyed painting it (my first painting attempt too!) with Cosmic Shimmer paints & will definitely be getting some more of those!
(I had to buy almost everything for this swap but luckily I loved using it all & it was fun trying out some slightly more difficult (for me! lol) ideas! xx

Ooooo, lovely sparkly cards this month ladies - loving them all

Now Welly, you must tell me where the lovely metallic flowers, beautiful stamped flowers & swirly stamp came from because I really need those.........! lol :flower:

The flowers are Dovecraft brads which I got from the Every Crafts A Pound stand at the Aintree fair - I've seen them somewhere else online recently, but I'm beggared if I can remember where. I have to confess that only 2 remained as brads as sadly they weren't very good quality & the 'legs' snapped off almost as soon as I opened them, so I gave up, broke off the remaining legs & Pinflaired them. The flowers & swirls are both from our Sheena's Funky Floral plate - the swirls are embossed with Cosmic Shimmers in one of the black varients, not to hand but I think Arctic & the flowers are CS mica powder from the pearl set, the ones that look white but have interference micas that show up on black.

Looby, I know what you mean about the 2nd class delivery - I posted my swap to Kitten last Thursday!

I received this beautiful card from Marzi today!

The background paper is a soft beige with a gorgeous flower detail which has been beautifully glittered and soft white butterflies across it. There is a softly glittered strip of ribbon across the bottom. The little tag has a sweet little fairy on it which again has been glittered. The jewelled butterfly is just breathtaking and sparkles away magnificently.

I seem to like to take two photos of the cards I receive! The first one shows the whole card and the second, I hope, has captured the wonderful bling of the butterfly and glittered flower.

Thank you, Marzi, I love my card and the care you have taken over it

Looby dd you get my PM?

My PC tower is crashing on me, have no CD reader and now its not letting me load any photos onto it. Would you be able to post a picture of your stunning card for me. Apologies I feel so bad as its so pretty and you have spent such a long time on it. It is standing with pride of place with my special cards in my craft room and my SIL always admires it when she sees it.

Satincollie, I will get your card finished today and posted first class on Monday.

No excuse I know, but things have just been hectic here this past 3 weeks.

Hi Tru, sorry hon, yes I got your pm but was knacked out after my hospital trip and had a DT card for CCM to finish. Anyhow, here is my card I sent to Tru-ella for the July bling cardswap. It's not the greatest pic in the world but it's difficult to capture.

I actually think I really do hate glitter!!! LOL So I penned this poem which was inside the card

Glitter, glitter everywhere
in my eyes and in my hair
On my nose just in my view
it's even in my knickers too

I hate the stuff the way it clings
with glitter who needs any rings
For weeks to come every time I look
I'll see it glistening in some small nook

Does anyone sell a glitter remover?
or do I need going over with the hoover?
