fascinators

I really fancy making a fascinator to go with my outfit for my daughters wedding. Can anyone offer any advise? The ones I' ve seen in shops use sinamay about 3/4" wide but I can't find any on the web. Am I looking for the right thing? I want the loops to be stiff with a few feathers on it. I do't want one too fancy hence me having a go at making one.
