Just been on QVC's website and had a look at the TV Guide.

There is an Anna Griffin TSV on Tuesday 4th November.

Thanks barney. Not sure if thats good or bad! I know I'll want it but do I need it?

Do you think it will be a Christmas box? It will be a little late really

On the other hand, yesterday at the end of her show, she was asked when she would be back and she did say November!

Before I looked at the link I would have said that I am definitely buying, but that storage bag really isn't to my taste at all, so if that is the TSV it's going to depend on whether I think the contents are worth the cost. Many thanks for posting though.

If my maths is right then that would put the TSV price at around £34. Add in the p+p & that's £40. They're clearly putting a lot of value on the bag. (Which is fair I guess as it is really nice, but I'm a bit sceptical about how useful something that size would genuinely be for "crafting on the go".) I do really like this, but I can't justify that kind of money. I'd get far more for my money buying her 12"x12" papers & cutting it down for card making. Those bits of paper are SMALL. :D

I'm sure at the moment everybody really has to justify spending £46 on bags for crafting. I needed winter boots instead i'm afraid!
Also they have shown it on the website early maybe they realise it may not sell and are trying to promote it more?

Thanks for the info SCW. I thought this would be the TSV, but agree it is very expensive - I don't think from memory that it has as many extras with it as the one of QVC America. The rolling tote is horribly expensive. I can probably have this TSV for my birthday (craft day), but I think I want to see it first. I have the other tote bag that qvc had some time ago, and have had a lot of use out of it, but that was under £30.

Like others I would have prefered a box of goodies like the last christmas tsv which had lots for the money.

I live in a tiny flat and have no storage so was thinking about getting a tote bag on wheels so i can move it round as i wasnt to use my stuff. I'd love to get one of AG's rolling craft totes but there isn't any description of it on the QVC website, does anyone know what comes inside it? ARe there any removable pockets/wallets etc? I like the other wheelable craft tote they have 586702, it has great reviews and loads of bits to it but i hate the colour!

Just been and looked at the QVC number. Its a tote bag on wheels made by Papermania and comes in a purple, pink and brown with pink piping. The biggest tote has sections within the main body of the bag that are velcroed in, so you can get them out for a better look. The side pockets have sections within them too and the pocket in the front is big enough to take a smallish number of peel offs. The main compartment is big enough to take 12 x 12 papers. The small tote that sits on the top, has a compartment fitted into its base with a slide out tray.

I have this set in the brown and pink, and think its a case of finding the best place to keep your stash so its accessible. I also have the small tote too, again this has a small compartment in the base.

Forgot to welcome you to the forum Marie.

Hi all, thanks for your comments, I'm pleased to be here with you all!
I do like the Papermania tote, but QVC only do it in the blue, I remember when they showed it on September craft day and I've checked again today and there are no other colours available. I think I'm going to wait and see what comes up on QVC on Tuesday and then decide what to get. I've got a few wallets for papers but simply hadn't realised how much other stuff I'd be getting!

Marie
02-11-2008, 01:30 AM
ok i realise i'm putting 2 posts in a row, but i'm a bit of an insomniac so am often wide awake at strange hours, like now when it is 2.20am! Anyway I've been having a look at QVC US website and the AG bags that are in the TSV. I watched the videos and they look really good, just the sort of things I'm looking for. Price wise we're actually getting better than the US, their normal combined price for both items is $106, so the QVCUK normal price of £49.25 is good especially as the dollar has recently increased in value. If the TSV price is £39.98 as shown, then that is even better.
It would be great if it was on easypay, here's hoping, i've noticed that recently quite a lot of their TSVs are on easypay so let's hope we get it for this one too!
Hope you're all sleeping soundly, I'll have to stop surfing the web as it makes me hyper!

Boris Bear
02-11-2008, 02:17 PM
I think they have got a bit of a cheek putting that five star review on the website. The reviewer say they have seen the demo on US QVC and it looks really good. How can you review something you haven't actually got? If someone had posted a review saying that the item looked carp then I bet it wouldn't get put on the website. I rated the review as unhelpful and reported it as inappropriate. Rant over:D

The other week I was looking at the website on my iPhone and something dramatic happened on television, my finger must have touched the screen for a second too long and I rated another review as unhelpful. I felt really guilty about that!

Back to the TSV happily it's not for me so I won't have to spend all day with the "I want it but I shouldn't" dilemma.

Lots of other craft outlets do these totes by mail order if you can't get to the shops and they are on offer ATM. Click on crafts is one outlet I can think of but I am sure there are others that do the full range of colours.

oh well, we'll all know by this time tomorrow! Thanks for the suggestions about other places to look Lorraine, I definately need to look around.
I think Anna Griffin stuff is very pretty and girly, but a bit like chocolate, a little is really nice but if you have too much then you feel a bit sick afterwards! Anyway this would be my first AG purchase, otherwise I've got a mix of stuff and i'm enjoying playing with the various different ranges, it's great fun! But I'll be at home tomorrow anyway so will doubtless be watching the craft hours.

Haven't seen it in the flesh (too ill & tired to stay up last night, plus hubby was watching a film), but I know I don't want it. Had a quick look on the Product Review - can anyone tell me why AG is so pricey?

I see the next show is 1pm, so I'll catch that, but I don't know if I'll get to see the Gifts for Crafters show at 4 - if I do, it'll be on the laptop. I'm intruigued (sp?) as almost everything QVC sells seems to include the words "this would make a really great gift for any crafters you know' in the spiel - so what's going to be new about specific 'gifts for crafters' :D

well i was lucky to have my birthday money to get the TSV and the rolling tote, also the latter is on easypay so that helps as well, especially with getting Christmas pressies this month and next month. Also for me I live in a tiny flat with next to no cupboard storage and whatever craft storage I have will be on view, so the alternative was to invest in some furniture storage which would probably have ended up being almost as expensive. This way I will have the very pretty bags on view and can also move them round when needed.
isn't amazing how we can find good excuses for basically buying ourselves what we want to have?? he he!

I watched the final presentation and there was no mention of how many had sold.

There was a five star review from someone who hadn't got the product which I though was misleading so I emailed QVC. They replied sayng that you can review something just from seeing the presentation or seeing it on the web.

Someone posted a one star review which now seems to have disappeared but another five star review has appeared along with two more one star reviews which I assume will soon disappear as well!

........ This way I will have the very pretty bags on view and can also move them round when needed.
isn't amazing how we can find good excuses for basically buying ourselves what we want to have?? he he!

Hi and welcome to the forum Marie, um the pretty bags on view concept amused me - it seems most of us are trying to HIDE our stash, not display it :D

As for the finding "good excuses" well just stick around cuz you will hear some crackers on here :D

LJ, the rolling tote wasn't the TSV, although I agree that that was also scarily priced!

OHHH was it not when I turned on the tv it had up tsv and they were showing the rolling tote:confused:still thats does not suprise me as the other week they had up details for some molton brown during one of the cooking shows , obviously someone doing the graphics had been on the cooking sherry:D

well I literally have nowhere to hide things, my flat is tiny and has no built in storage other than the kitchen cupboards! I have a wardrobe in one bedroom but the other bedroom is my study (I work from home a lot) so any sort of storage is on show!! I used to live in a 4 bed house.....oh the luxury of cupboard space!
As for AG price, having watched her stuff on QVC over this past few months, I agree that it is pricey but I kind of think of her as a type of American Laura Ashley. But I too noticed that they didn't say much about the TSV selling well, in fact I noticed that about 10 past midnight Anthony said that about 100 had sold, a tiny number in comparison to some other TSVs. One lady rang in later in the day who had purchased the set at full price a week or two ago and raved about it though even at full price. But I'm still looking forward to getting my TSV and the tote, they match the colour scheme (egg blue) of the curtains in my study/spare bedroom so should look good in there!

I received my Ag TSV today, I almost passed out on the doorstep I was so suprised it was so quick.

I am pleased with the bags, but as far as the embellishments go I would have thought that with all the beautiful things she produces she would be ashamed to have put her name to these. I have seen better in a £ shop.

I am a big AG fan and I would have prefered to have had the bag at a cheaper price and no extras. The papers are very small, but I expected that.

IMO the christmas box last year was a lovely TSV and I am glad I bought more than 1,

I also ordered the garden stamps which sold out and the animal papers.

I feel sure that lots of people would have been far happier with a large box of lovely papers.

Well I got mine today (actually came yesterday but I didn't open the box as I thought it was something else boring, so I got a nice surprise this morning when I opened it!). I really like it, it is so pretty, the small organiser bag is my favourite of the 2 as I can keep lots of odds and ends in it, but the tote and the wallet will hold lots of bigger things. I'm waiting to get my rolling tote before I start sorting everything out, I'm hoping that my sewing machine will go in there and my paper craft stuff will go in the bags I've got today.
As for the embellishments and things, they are nice, in particular the brads and ribbons, the blue/green colour mix is really pretty. I'm not sure I'd use the felt and crotched ones but they are quite nice. Funnily enough I have some very pretty crotched doilies made by my mam on my dressing table (old fashioned but I love them) so I know how long it takes to make these things. My mam was fantastic at knitting and crotchet and taught me when I was a little girl. But even though she could knit and crotchet very quickly, it would take her an hour or so to make even a very small doilly. I can make them as well but nothing like as quickly. So if the AG ones are handmade, then a lot of work has gone into making them.
Anyway I love the whole TSV collection, very pretty and I'm very pleased with it!
