I must give credit to Glenda Waterworth for mine as it's my copy of a card she did in the Graphicus newsletter.

Lovely selection of cards there Joanee, TFS!
Sympathies with the 'puter probs - we have also just spent the best part of 2 days trying to get DD's old one back up & running - replaced motherboard etc., still not working so thought it was a graphics card problem but now appears to be the monitor - tried every combination & got it up & running eventually with graphics card back in thank gawd or littlest would be struggling to play her games!
Bl**dy 'puters, total PITA at times!

It's soldered to the mainboard due to the heat my laptop has been at 102c you get fatigue cracking so in time the underside of the chip break away from the mainboard causing loss of video.
That has now started to happen if i dont disable the GPU my laptop keeps switching off. But it makes it really slow and cant use programs I want. Sony have given people with this GPU 4 years cover on the part. But they dont seem happy to fix them at all. I just dont trust the company the laptop is sent to had lots of problems with them. They are very good at saying it's something else like a broken motherboard. They have been asking people for £750 to fix it or a charge of £165 to return your laptop. And if they do fix it it's still with the same GPU that has the same fault.
