Default 1st quilt inspired by Jennie

I saw Jennie show a quilt on Saturday's programme and thought 'I could do that, hopefully', so I've had a go with my brand new machine. This is the first quilt I have ever made and have used bits that I already had so all it cost me was the wadding. I have attached a photo of my grandson (5 months) using his new quilt so that you can see that it's not that big!! I used my embelisher to put the felt shells and letters on.

I think I may have the bug as I'm now working out what's next!!!

That's lovely! Amazing for a first quilt - can't wait to see what you do next.

That's excellent for a first attempt, Jammy. Are you going to be quilting everything now? lol

Oh Jammy, I am so jealous. I am determined to find some time to sew this week and make a start on a quilt. You have done so well (the baby looks happy with it too!). Can I ask where you got your wadding and what width you used?

Edited to say: I should also have asked what width wadding did you use.

Hi everyone, thanks for the kind comments.

Penny, I am lucky enough to have an old fashioned wool and material shop on my doorstep (well almost!) and that's where I go for the small things. I paid
£2.95m for the wadding and it was probably 2/3cm thick by 1m across. Hope that helps. It was the thickest one they had.

And yes I will probably be quilting everything from now on!
