    Here's a photo of my first attempt at free machine embroidery with the help of a kit. Really enjoyed this so will have to think what I can do next.

    really lovely Jammy. Did you paint the colours or was the fabric ready dyed for you?

    Glad you like it.

    The fabric is made up of a collage of natural cream fabrics, stitched into place and then dyed with fabric paint before adding free machine embroidery to create picture.

    How lovely Jammy. I am very impressed that you mananged this as a first attempt - it's very artistic and looks so effective. At the workshop I am doing we are going to do a sampler in the morning and a picture in the afternoon. I am not really artistic so heaven knows what that will be like but it will teach me the things I need to know to use with applique.
