Default It's that time already - Gingerbread 2012!

I can't believe it's been a year since the last one but it has. And here's this years Gingerbread house. We went for Santa's workshop, with a nod to the Olympics!

Here are the elves hard at work inside the workshop ---

sending the finished gifts out to the sleigh on the conveyor belt.

It turns out Santa is a team GB supporter - and Tom Daley trains there! You'd think a warmer climate might work better for diving - but that's Santa's magic for you!

There are more pics here on my blog if you're interested. Thanks for looking - and all the best for the holiday season however you spend it!!

OMG, Soo, that's just fabulous! Really wonderful. How long does it take you to do? Can you then bear to eat it after all the work?

Thanks Dips - it's not quite as professional as your cake-y goodies but we do have a lot of fun! It's made by myself, my best friend, her husband and their 4 children (aged 10 3/4 to 18!). We've been doing one each year for 21 years now. Lots of sugar, sweets, Christmas music and fun.

I bake the pieces the day before, and construction and decoration take us about 5 or 6 hours (with a 45 minute break for pizza while the roof sets!) I don't eat it - but it does get eaten by the children attending my best friend's annual Christmas party which is always the following Sunday. Deconstruction takes about 4 seconds.
