Default CD ROM Help with windows 8

I have recently purchased a new pc on windows 8, as my last pc was on its last legs. I had not tried any of my cd roms until today when I thought I would spend the day printing off toppers and backing papers to make cards for the nursing home.
Well that was a waste of time all I can get is a picture no way of printing or using snap tool
Some won’t even let me view contents.
Some are the old cupcake crafting cd roms which is not an issue but the others are Joanna sheen ones and some crafters companion and la Pashe ones.
I searcedh the internet for answers and got the same information that none of them are compatible with windows 8 unless the makers of the cd roms have issued a patch which is doubtful as it would cost them money
So have I now got a few hundred pounds worth of useless cd roms:headbang: or does anyone with window 8 have solution for me

All my JS cds run fine on W8.1, no patches required.
What happens when you look at the files in the cd and click the .exe file?

If you want it added to the tool bar for quick access click as follows:
    View- Show/Hide-Toolbar Items-Edit-Take Snapshot.

There should be a tick mark next to Take snapshot and it will be in your toolbar ever more :)
