    Default My Edward's Menagerie Creations

Here are a couple of animals I have made from the Edward's Menagerie book. Please bear in mind that I've only just taught myself to crochet, so they aren't perfect, but I'm trying LOL!

This is Emma the bunny. She is made with double knitting wool and she is my first creation.

This is Bridget the elephant and she is made with aran wool.

This is both of them together so you can see the difference in sizes dependant on what wool you use to crochet them with.

They don't take long and are not too fiddly. The best thing (for me) is that there is very little sewing involved. I used to make knitted toys but all the sewing up used to get me down! These are basically tubes of varying sizes and all the sewing needed is just attaching limbs etc LOL!

They are so cute Beth, well done.
I've been trying to crochet for years but it defeats me. Every time I try to have another go my mum has to show me how it's done! I don't know why, I have no problems knitting.

They are brilliant. Pity Jill at the needle and natter group can't see them as she is working on the bunny. Taught herself to crochet right handed as the lady who was doing the crochet classes refused to teach her 'cos she was left handed.

I've watched lots of peeps crochet, and have now discovered so many of them stick the first finger of the left hand in the air. I've always held the work with my first finger and thumb (left hand) and wrapped the yarn around my other fingers. Have tried the finger in the air method, can't manage it at all. Is that where your problem is JM?

Always look on the bright side, if you can't find it then polish up the dull side.

Thanks for showing us your little friends P4W - they're great! I like crochet but like you don't enjoy the sewing up. Where do you all get your 'stuffing' materials from and what's it called please? One of the care home residents has a shop bought bunny exactly like the one in your picture and she adores him. She sits with him on her knee chatting away to him.
