i dont think so as there is not enough items for an hour but the prices are about the same as they used to be (they just havnt put any introductory/feature prices on yet) as ive compared them to my old notes

I'm doing the biggest one I've ever done at the moment and I'm pretty sure it's over a £100 now.
Sheesh, they would have to be on linen for me to pay anywhere near what QVC are charging. The most I have ever paid for a Jane Greenoff kit was £70+ for 'the box', and that included all the linen and linen band, plus the silk dupion, soft lining, tape, ribbons, and of course all the Madeira threads, Coton Perle and the destructions.

I paid about 45 for the last wedding ring pillow I made, that too had two lots of 32 count linen, Coton Perle, and various other specialist threads and beads. Not as many destructions in that kit of course.

I have found that the larger the kit, the cheaper it appears to be. Dunno why that should be though.

I don't do cross stitch now as my fingers and eyes won't let me
But I still have fabric threads and pattern books
My dad used to buy me a pattern every month too
    Might give it another try

I know the kits were never cheap but for just a kit with a few stitches in the design I thought they were expensive

I seem to remember seeing that design worked up at the Viking Loom in York before they flitted to a different part of York. I always fancied the Henry and his assorted wives as well as the one you are working on. The only problem is that I would have to change the fabric as I detest Aida. It doesn't have to be linen, evenweave will do, but definitely not Aida - shudder!

Either over the counter magnification specs, or prescription ones might help Jan. As for your hands, have you tried those elasticated fingerless gloves? I can't remember what they are called, but I found them excellent. At least I did until the accident, can't have anything tight on that hand now, though I do have a (several actually) knitted gloves that only have three quarters of a thumb so I can keep the joint warm. I always feel silly when I am out and about, especially when folks ask why I am wearing a daft glove on such a hot day, but hey ho, it works far better than the pain killers do. Need to make a few more, especially as I have now perfected the pattern. It is also a great way to use up spare bits of double knitting yarn. :)
