I'm going to be spending a few days near Hereford, which is not a part of the country I know well. Are there any good craft/needlework shops in the area?
We are taking our Labrador, Mungo, with us. Any suggestions for good dog walks for him?

Not sure about the shopping, but check out the following links for doggy walks (Symonds Yat is beautiful, but best keep Mungo on a lead as there are some awful drops where some dogs have died).

Ross on Wye is a nice town with walks by the river.

Thank you for those suggestions. I went on a field trip in the Wye Valley when I was doing A-level geography and we had to do a transect of Symonds Yat and traffic counts in Ross. That was in 1973, so it would be interesting to see how they have changed. We always have Mungo on a lead when we go walkies - he likes to know where we are and so he wanders more on a long lead than if we let him loose! But he loves chasing balls all over our local recreation ground, so he gets the bulk of his exercise that way.
