Default What happens to made up cards, it is a pity to throw them away!

Having been a member of this forum for more years than I care to remember, I am wondering what other members do with cards that have been especially made for them. For that reason I feel discouraged to just throw them away (as much as my other half would like me to do). For example, I made an album of my 50th cards and would not dream of discarding them, as I do occasionally look at them, presumably it is because they were handmade especially for me.

I've kept all mine. Mostly stored in old shoe boxes. Won't throw any away.

I am pleased that I am not the only one who wants to make a collection or archive of beautiful cards received.

A few years back I asked members if I could use aspects of the cards to make new ones for charity
I was pleased that most people agreed
I took them to various charity shops telling them the story of how the cards came together
So they all went to raise money for a good cause ( for those who might be lurking reading this it was not my personal charity)
I still have photos of all the of the cards to look at
If I had not done this hubby would have dumped them along with over 40 years of my record collection when we moved
Since then Sadly the swaps have got less so I have kept all the recent cards
You don't have to be as mad as a box of frogs to be here but it helps:mysmilie_13:

Mine are kept in a drawer under my bed, my daughter scrapbooks her cards. Haven’t got round to doing that as yet.

All mine are in a box, in no particular order, but I'm trying to 'edit' the whole house. My Mother (who is also a crafter) takes photos of them, then guts them & harvests the reusable stuff for future projects. So I'm not sure where I get my sentimentality from!!!

I made a scrapbook in the early days, but had to give up when moving to the bungalow as there just isn't room. Most get recycled for the fluffit/woofit shop, which is what is happening to most of the ATC's I have received over the years. I have framed one of my birthday cards, a parchment one. A hand painted C******** card has also been framed and comes out each C********.

Always look on the bright side, if you can't find it then polish up the dull side.
