Default Why does Tattered Lace make stuff and then make them out to be a another company?

Rare Earth, Carnation Crafts, Duo Dies, Stephanie Signature, Dawns Selection.

Seem to be made by Tattered Lace, but with another company, why aren’t they all called Tattered lace, or is it to make viewers think it’s all seperate.

Who knows. I seldom worry about which company is doing what. It is more a case of do I want/need/afford it!

I had a little smile the other day when they had all the "Independant Guides" on. Turns out they are produced at the "I-Hub" which is, basically, the SW Empire. So not very "independant" after all.

Ha!!!!!!! that makes sense now JD, they've always been top of tree themselves pricewise but I didn't know they had all of those under their umbrella - I like some of the Carnation Crafts stuff but I've found it extremely expensive and wondered about it being so dear - makes me cringe at some of the prices! I guess at the end of the day its all down to the "accounting" ………………..

I suspect as you say its so that people think they are different companies.
Most of us like a particular style that we gravitate to and probably tend to look at new products from the same companies.
Tattered lace have never appealed to me so I just don't look at their products even though, if I looked, there may be some items that I might actually like.
I am pretty sure there is a tactical reason. C&C seem to do a lot of that kind of thing, like have the same item under different item codes, with different prices. No good saying on tv, don't buy the other one as this one is cheaper as people who haven't heard that could be caught out, and end up ordering and paying more.
I just don't have the energy to look at everything that is available (thankfully, as I have enough stuff as it is)

Well, Ink Lily, being demonstrated by Mel, apparently its a HUGE set of 180 'pens' plus some stamps & a 15 m tutorial and its only £360 for club members! I noticed Steph was doing the presenting and there were a lot of "we's" so I pricked my ears up and then heard her say it was part of the iHub, in the Create and Craft family. What a carryon, and the prices for all of these sets, heavens above. Steph actually did say as we'd all been at home during the lockdown and couldn't go out socialising, having meals or using fuel it was a nice way to spend (or words to that effect). And of course you can have 4 flexi's or 5 which makes it more affordable AND its p&p free. Bargain ladies? answers on postcard to C&C please !

Pink Lily is meant to be a professional colouring course, leading up to a qualification.

Imagine going for some arty farty job, manager says ooh so you have a qualification what examination board was it, ooh it’s just a qualification a shopping channel dreamt up.

Only £360, well yes, ok then I will have six sets as they are soooo cheap!

Flippin heck, I could nearly buy the new laptop I want at that price, and I bet it'll last longer than the pens.

I once bought a Jane Greenoff kit that had two different numbers. One cost about £10+ postage, the other was free + postage. You get one guess as to which one I bought, and it wasn't the one at ten squid either.

I have several TL dies, usually bought when they have been three for two, I'm not daft. Oddly enough I have seldom bought them from C & C. The first three came from the NEC one November, the next three from whatever the TL site is called. Bought some on eBay, as one does if one wants 'em mega cheap as they are pre used.

Some years ago I desperately wanted the dolls house die, but at £30+ I couldn't afford it. Then I sold a couple of Jane Greenoff charts for £50, so I thought I would buy the die on eBay. Great idea, especially when I found a seller flogging it for £10 less, new too. I also noticed a seller who had it precut onto white card. Had a think about it, realised that as I wanted the die for a specific purpose, birthday cards for my miniaturist friends, it seemed a bit silly to spend all that money on something with limited use. Can't remember how much the die cuts cost, but I bought several others at the same time. I think I spent about £12 or so, quite a saving on one die.
