    Default Rob Locke

He used to present on QVC back in the day and has been on IW for a while. Yesterday he was presenting on C&C with Hels then Dawn. He tried to make it all about him and his links with the US. Perhaps he was nervous , but probably not. Loads of waffle about the different words used here and in the US. Was not impressed.C&C does not need another presenter who is self obsessed nor one who thinks C&C is a US TV shopping channel.

He was new to me when he started doing the late night ITV broadcasts and I like him. Doesn't seem to be dumbed down like so many craft telly presenters. I can't even watch Adam on Hochanda anymore, reminds me of a second rate Bingo caller who lays his accent on with a trowel.

I found him very irritating. If the US was/is so great what is he doing back here in the UK?????????

I used to like Rob Locke back in the days when he was with QVC. He left and went to USA and then things took a turn for the worse. I can't remember all the details. There were lots of posts on Shopping Telly about him. He became unemployed and couldn't support himself, wife and child(ren). In desperation he set up a Go Fund Me type appeal which outraged a lot of people. On ST they mentioned sometime ago that he was back here and on a shopping TV channel and he talked nonstop about himself - from what you've said it sounds like he hasn't changed.

Yes, he mentioned his wife and children being in the US. He has got a following for being the David Brent of TV shopping. He doesn’t make me laugh. Possibly that is because the Craft Channels don’t sell tat but things you can use to craft with.
Enter Rob Locke – possibly the last, desperate, inspired gasp of the old school shopping channel. The joy of Locke is that he revels in the irrelevant, comical absurdity of what he’s doing, he feeds on the pathetic position he’s found himself in, vows to make the most of it by making a mockery of the polished, long-established salesman norms of the trade, and in the process becomes the first man (that I’m aware of) to make a shopping channel worth watching.’

I'm afraid he doesn't float my boat either. So him a few times on IW and wasnt impressed. IW seems to be made up of defunct channel presenters nowadays apart from such as Denise & Shaun. And by the way, where is Howard these days? Haven't seen him for many months
Two and two make four...........but now and then they add up to three and occasionally, just occasionally its five !

Last night Dean and Dawn were doing a paper and card show and Dean was going real old school, extoling the benefits of envelopes for 5 mins. I thoght he was just trying to annoy Dawn but he might have been having a not so subtle go at Rob

The name rings a vague bell but I can't picture him. I don't generally like presenters who make it all about themselves. I don't mind the occasional personal anecdote but not a whole show of "look at me". Especially when there's the product specialist trying to demonstrate and they won't let them get on with it.

I had to go on catch-up to see who you were talking about. The face looks vaguely familiar. He was a bit me-me but once he'd introduced himself I didn't think he was any worse than Dean and Hels didn't seem unduly bothered by him. I didn't watch the whole programme though, just enough to know he won't be one I'll look out for.
