    Default Help please re beads

I've nearly finished one of my Lavender and Lace cross stitch thingies. I now need some beads for it (I was sure I had some but can't find them now). I've also got another couple of charts that I want to do the cross stitch for so thought I'd buy the beads for them too.

The charts are fairly old but new to me. A date on one of them is 1990.

It says Mill Hill beads but I don't know how to find them. I've found a couple of the numbers but it comes up with a list of different colours and I haven't got a clue which colours I need.

On the chart there is also a heading which says Needlepoints it could possibly be needlepaints lol. There are a list of them too.

All different symbols but it goes from 2001 to 2011 inclusive.

Sorry it's so confusing but any help would be appreciated.

I'll put a picture up of the list on the chart if it's any help.

A picture of the chart. I've managed to order the Mill Hill beads and the PB 10 but haven't got a clue what the list under where is says Needlepoints means. Any ideas please?

Also I'm not sure what the 'used on over one face only' and 'used on over two face only' means.

Well, it's Needlepaints and it's thread. Will carry on looking to see if I can find some over here, found some on an American site.

i think its Needlepaint thread. And the numbers may relate to colours
    Still looking for you
I was going to suggest Roz for the Mill hill beads, as I'm sure she has mentioned them in previous posts, but you seem to have sorted that bit

Can't find any over here. Found a site where it said RG Splendor Mandarin Bamboo Floss is more or less the same. Found a few site in the States that do it. I want 11 different colours so it will be quite expensive with the P & P. I think most of the threads were around 3.70 dollars and the postage just over £10. Not sure I want to pay that much for them.

    Thanks for looking Lioness.

Found these 2 conversion of Needlepaints colours to DMC threads websites which might be helpful:
    http://juliesxstitch.com/stitching-t...dmc-conversion
    https://janetgranger.wordpress.com/2...fabric-to-use/
I think there may be different sized Mill Hill beads - small ones get used when you are working face over 1 thread and the other when working over 2 threads.

It seems that the Needlepaint threads are being discontinued, if they havent been already. So finding any in Uk may be difficult
There are several sites which give DMC equivalents:

    http://juliesxstitch.com/stitching-t...dmc-conversion
    http://www.tiag.com/otherproducts/needlepaints.html
    https://sandrasstitchstash.com/pages...epaints-to-dmc

I did find a you tube video which appear to show what over one and over two means. However she used aida for over one, and linen for over two.
I think that over one means that you make a cross stitch using adjacent holes. Over two, means that you make a cross by skipping the adjacent hole and going into the next one(obviously you are working on the diagonal so once you have completed the X, there is a hole under the point where the two threads cross)
I think that on this pattern it refers to the face only.

Thank you so much Lioness, that's really helpful. I found all the colours on your first list. It seems weird how this chart was done doesn't it? I presume there's a slight difference in the thread colour. I don't think I've ever done a cross stitch where two different makes of thread have been used.

    Thanks once again.

Credit to be shared with CSF who posted the same link at exactly the same time

Yes it is strange to have a kit with two different brands of thread
I can only assume that they are different in texture
