Default How much money do they think people have?

I don’t watch create & craft very often but for the last few days everytime I’ve caught a show there always seems to be a normal collection at a respectable price and then a complete collection usually over £100. It’s ok to offer flexipay or whatever it’s called to make it easier, but people’s finances can only stretch so far.

I watched it for the first time in months. Didn't watch for long as it was a very expensive sewing machine. Looked fabulous, but at over £3000 it isn't really for someone like me who just makes or alters a few things. I'm not sure I could have justified it even when I was sewing professionally (though the knee lift nearly sold it to me. I loved using the knee lift on a friend's industrial machine). You know an item is expensive when the club price saves you £600!

£3000 seems quite cheap compared to one I saw today at over £12,000. THey said it was for professionals, at that price I should think it is. Mine cost me £118 a couple of weeks ago, he does all I need him to do, well except he doesn't have an automatic needle threader. Not that I have found a machine yet that does a half decent job threading a needle, may as well not bother, buy a pack of the wire ones for two or three squiddle instead.

Nearly everything on C&C is way too expensive for me. Not that they have much on that makes me want to buy anyway.

Prices have been spiralling out of control for a while. I remember not that many years ago when £30ish was a considered purchase and you could pay that for a good kit.
Flexi payments of any kind are there to pull you in and make you think that an item is more affordable. But if you are not careful, they could mount up and you could end up with several on the go. Personally I prefer a straightforward discount and then I decide if I wish to pay so much. I really dont know how people can afford to buy the £100, £200 and £300+ sets on a regular basis. Where do you keep everything?
I rarely watch these days then I cannot be tempted by anything .......

I have more of less given up buying paper crafting stuff. In fact I am seriously considering parting with a load of it. I know I might be able to make a little money if I sell it on eBay, but it is such a faff I would rather give it to the fluffit/woofit shop. Their need is greater than mine, especially as I haven't made many cards for them for ages.

Since buying little Paulo (sewing machine) I have become more interested in using him rather than paper crafting. I still prefer hand sewing, but sometimes things are more problematic to make by hand than by machine. I have been playing around with YouTube quite a lot, and found loads of tutorials on there for things I would never have thought of using or making.

I can't remember the last time I watched C&C. I get emails and sometimes open them if it's a company I like but usually ignore them. I notice it's festive season at the moment and I usually buy something new for making cards so will look if something catches my eye.

I don't have a sewing machine apart from a broken antique one that we found in the garage when we moved in. Last weekend I finally got round to re-doing my Tatter Jacket. I've never been happy with it since I first made it a few years ago so I've been collecting fabric from Hobbycraft and second hand shops. It took me two days to take all the old tatters off, cut maybe a couple of hundred new strips to add and sewed it all by hand. We had a dance out for the Solstice and nothing fell off so I call that a win.

I would love to see a phot of your tatter jacket. Being a nosy (in a good way) sort of person I looked a tatter jacket up on t'Internet. They look good, might cause a bit of a stir in Barnsley! Perhaps I ought to make one for when I go to see Il Volo in October in gree, white and red! Ok then, perhaps not. Christine has threatened to wear her Il Divo top. I'm all for it myself, she can say I cajoled her into going. She thought I meant Il Divo, not Il Volo! Hahahahha
