How odd what we all like and dislike. To me the coast is the sound of the gulls. We are close enough - about 35 miles - to get gulls here occasionally when it's rough out at sea and I only have to hear them to be tranported back to my youth.

We are quite near the coast i am guessing less than a mile, so we often have the gulls squawking around, they nested on a chimney pot across the road from us a couple of times and what a blooming racket, when the young were flying the nest for the first time you would have thought you were watching a scene from the birds, gulls where flying in great big circle's all around and making the most terrible din, how on earth so many new what was going on is anyone guess
